Step 1: Pass the National Examination for Higher Education (EXANI-II)
To enrol in a medical school in Mexico, you must complete high school and pass the National Examination for Higher Education (EXANI-II), a national exam that assesses your knowledge of mathematics, biology, chemistry and other subjects. Spanish.
Step 2: Enrol in and Complete a Medical Degree Programme
After finishing high school and passing the EXANI-II, you can enrol in a Mexican medical school (facultad de medicina). In Mexico, medical degree programmes typically last six years and include classroom instruction and clinical rotations. Throughout your studies, you will take anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, and clinical medicine courses.
Step 3: Successfully Complete the Medical Professional Qualification Exam
To obtain a medical licence in Mexico, you must first pass the Medical Professional Qualification Exam (ENEM) after completing your medical degree programme. The Mexican Council of Medical Education (Consejo Mexicano de Educación Médica, CMEM) administers the ENEM, which tests your knowledge and skills in a variety of medical subjects.
